The pandemic has affected my life in a way that is ironically positive. I’ve returned to my childhood revels of discovering this house’s most beautiful secrets. I notice the sunlight shimmering through the crystallised front door window and raking across the couch pillows like a divine beacon of hope. I’m moved by the way the vapour from a steaming shower rises to the ceiling to meet the sunlight glistening off the glass sliding door’s metallic trim. More time is spent looking through family photo albums, re-living the fond memories of warm California summers I spent with my Mother before she became ill. Moreover, I’ve been able to spend more time the most important person in my life, my Father.
