Robin Friend

My brother thinks the moon is an eye.
We get in the car but don’t go anywhere.
A strange thing happened.
We travel to a place where the creatures from the books I read as a baby live.
It was on the other side of the world, but in all honesty it could have been a different universe.
Here, the flowers grow wild but not all the Dandelion clocks work.
Yesterday we picnicked at the rocks where the egg hatched.
Tomorrow I will feed carrots to Ice, the horse with the mask.
It’s not scary though because it’s just pretend. What’s happening now.
