Monty Kaplan

In these strange times we are experiencing, I find myself far away from Home. As the pandemic hit, I was in the midst of working on the project in Miami, Florida, where I’m currently stuck.
Both the social distancing, as well as the distance from family and loved ones made these last weeks a particularly hard ordeal.

I started to feel like a prisoner, sent to do time on a far-off land. Unaware of when I’ll be able to fly home, or when the quarantine process will end, days have become both long and short at the same time. Long to live through, but also so drawn out that they flow into one another. The images became a way to manifest my anxiety and anger.
