Description

The images submitted are imaginary landscapes and places from my desktop travels. These were created at my home during the lockdown.

Spending much more time at my home desk I began to notice the incredible play of light and shadow transforming all the familiar objects in the room.

Soon I was interacting with this light and shadow. I would capture them on paper, or make simple interventions, combining small objects to create ephemeral installations. Before long these started to form an imaginary journey.
I am mesmerised by how the simplest acts and observations, in this case capturing light and shadows, can often create a portal to infinite possibilities for the exploration of memories and the imagination.

All the images submitted are derived from these activities. They are a combination of inverted Cyanotype prints
and photos of imaginary landscapes, created with small objects packed with stories of their own, mudlarked from the Thames, and stones brought back from my travels.
