My work explores moments of isolation between subjects and their surroundings. Drawing inspiration from film, and my own memories of youth and of family, I use imagery to convey isolation and nostalgia throughout my work. Throughout this very anxiety provoking time, I’ve intentionally constructed photographs to pull the viewers attention away from the identity of subjects in order to produce a narrative that is universal. In some cases, the subject lies beyond the frame; images suggest their previous presence. Above all, this work is driven by the search for the feeling of home.
