I’m Monty, a photographer, former filmmaker from Argentina, currently based back home in Buenos Aires.
My photography deals mostly with the concept of change and transformation. As a result my preferred times to work are usually when a day is either beginning or ending, as I can never get tired of seeing that gorgeous light change, and how it is unique everyday. I’m a person who truly believes that the only constant thing in the universe is change, and so I try to visually manifest the transformation I go through within myself by documenting the world around me.
My creative process always involves light. Light is a huge part of my photography, as I always find it to be a tool with unlimited possibilities. I’m very playful, and light, be it natural or artificial helps me create a very personal vision.
I’m often not interested in people, as they feature rarely in my body of work, but paradoxically I am very interested in the world that people have built. In the objects and infrastructures we create. In a sense my work is a kind of surreal anthropological documentation of the human world.
