Description

Dariana Chemodurova
Russia

The Thumbelina’20 is the photo project. This is a story about feelings the one experiences when being home alone, self-isolated. When the doors are locked (even if from inside) you feel cut off from the world and people. Everything is changing and you are shrinking to fit in the new limited space. You become tiny and fragile, missing the sense of stability and safety. Home is the only comfortable place you have left, your own little world and a miracle space. In my world I am living amid the flowers. I can climb on flower buds and enjoy the smell of fresh petals. I can hide from my fears in leaves. I can grow mysterious herbs of all shapes and colours, because it’s a blossoming garden of my fantasy. Imagination is a magic key which exists inside everyone, it’s a bridge between worlds. Please, don’t let it disappear.

This image is part of a wider series that was submitted and selected by the judges as one of three standout series from the competition.
