Description

“All these images were taken on a roadtrip last year with my good friend Paul – a manic 24 hours from New York City to New Jersey where we slept 4 of those and spent the rest of the time shooting and driving. The tracklisting is mostly americana and folk, but i had to include Separator by Radiohead as it was durng this trip that i first heard it and it became something instrinsicly attached to my memory of the trip. (thanks Paul)” – Ian Howorth

Exhibited in the OD online exhibition The Road Trip, 2020

Ian Howorth is a successful and respected commercial photographer shooting stills for a variety of brands as well as directing the photography on the sets of advertising, TV series and films. Ian brings this cinematic styling and drama to his art prints.

“My name is Ian Howorth and I’m a photographer based in Brighton, England. Having lived in 3 different countries by the time I was 15, left me with a confused sense of identity. Going into my thirties much more sure-footed and confident, the need for answers was no longer desperate, but an important puzzle to for self-realisation. Due to unexpected turns in my career in video and filmmaking, I found my self with a stills camera in my hand, looking to it as a way to explore and document. Not wanting to pursue the other, I pursued what was close to me – the things that are always there every day yet somehow ignored and not scrutinised…” – Ian Howorth
